Narayanganj’s urban and economic history is ancient and multi-faceted. In considering the future pressure on the city, and anticipating transport demands, light rail transit or tram services can be introduced. The river port area and Chashara node can be developed as major transport hubs and public places. Selected canals can be rejuvenated for better public use.
